Changing Winds

from "The Sojourner Truths

The tide comes in to wash away
The pain of all her yesterdays.
And takes with it a piece of time,
Simply as a nursery rhyme.
Flowers bloom and fade away,
Casting off their futures
To the changing winds of time.
But dont cry your tears,
Dont turn away,
Just wait until a better day.
While listening to the quiet of your mind.
In her youth she never thought
Shed see the day when
She could not
Realize her hopes,
Make her dreams come true.
She remembers how it never seemed
That time was passing by unseen.
Lessons went unlearned...
No one listened, no one heard.
But dont think you owe a thing my dear.
You mostly acted out of fear,
While clinging to the quiet of your mind.
And she sits between
The oceans and the flowers.
Torn between her dreams...
Chasing lost hours.
Feeling that shed never have
The time to know shed ever see
The day the dreams would melt away.
The tide comes in to wash away
The pain of all her yesterdays.
And takes with it a piece of time,
Gently. . .As a nursery rhyme.
Put your yesterdays behind you dear.
The time slipped by, so cry your tears.
Cast your future to the
Changing winds of time.
